Finally, the past progressive tense shows actions that were ongoing in the past, like "I was watching TV when you called." Understanding these tenses helps us communicate more clearly and effectively.

🟣 Using the Present Simple
Règle :
The present simple tense is used to describe habits, routines, and general truths. It is formed using the base form of the verb. For example, "I eat breakfast at 7 AM."

- He play football. → He plays football. (Erreur d'accord)
🟣 Using the Past Simple
Règle :
The past simple tense describes actions that have already happened. It is formed by adding -ed to regular verbs or using the second form of irregular verbs. For example, "I visited my friend yesterday."
- I watched a movie last night.
- She traveled to Paris last summer.
- They finished their homework.
- I seen the movie. → I saw the movie. (Erreur de forme irrégulière)
- He go to the party. → He went to the party. (Erreur de conjugaison)

Règle :
The present progressive tense is used to describe actions that are currently happening. It is formed using 'to be' + verb-ing. For example, "I am reading a book right now."
- I am studying for my exams.
- She is cooking dinner.
- They are playing soccer.
- I am study. → I am studying. (Erreur de forme)
- He are playing. → He is playing. (Erreur d'accord)
🟣 Using the Past Progressive
Règle :
The past progressive tense describes actions that were ongoing in the past. It is formed using 'was/were' + verb-ing. For example, "I was watching TV when you called."
- I was sleeping when the phone rang.
- She was studying all night.
- They were playing outside.
- I was watch TV. → I was watching TV. (Erreur de forme)
- They was playing. → They were playing. (Erreur d'accord)
