Using Tenses Effectively

🎧 Lire / écouter d’abord

In English, we use different tenses to express actions that happen at different times. The present simple tense is often used for routines and facts. For example, "I go to the gym every day." The past simple tense describes actions that have already happened, like "I visited my grandmother last weekend." The present progressive tense indicates actions that are currently happening, such as "I am studying for my exams right now." Finally, the past progressive tense shows actions that were ongoing in the past, like "I was watching TV when you called." Understanding these tenses helps us communicate more clearly and effectively.
